(Sometimes, it’s ok to have a guide. ;))
What’s a provocation?
In the context of this project, a provocation is a short vignette and/or set of questions that invite exploration of a topic related to inclusive design, through a series of often critical questions. The goal of the provocation is to stir up conversation and critical thinking and reflection around topics related to inclusive design. Each month, the Inclusive Design Un-Guide will share a provocation as a starting point for connection, conversation, and exploration.
What can I do with a provocation?
Reflect, react, respond! You might ask yourself, What comes up for me as I read the provocation? What connections do I see to my own experiences? What issues do I see with the provocation? (How) does the provocation help me to think/think differently about inclusive design?
We invite you to make your thinking on these questions visible by making an artifact – you choose the medium. Write a blog post or a tweet, create or mashup an image, record a video, scribble something down on paper and take a picture, or whatever else moves you. If you’re so inclined, you can share your make with others by posting to social media using the hashtag #InclusiveDesignUnGuide, upload it directly to this site’s Reflection Bank, or comment directly on the provocation blog post. You have the option to share your reflection anonymously. If you’d rather not share your make, that’s fine too.
How can I connect with others who are making and sharing their thoughts?
You might check out the site’s Reflection Bank, or read through things posted to the hashtag #InclusiveDesignUnGuide on social media. We’ll also be pulling posts using that hashtag onto the home page of the Un-guide.
How can I ask a question/get involved with the un-guide project/curate a provocation?
